How does WvW work?

Is it much different to PvE? Only you're killing other players?

WvW is practically PvP in a PvE environment, where there are different landmarks that you must take. It's almost like a real battle. There are a bunch of resources that you can mine, as well as some monsters. But, keep in mind that this is all level 80. You're scaled up to level 80, if you're lower. But your weapons and armour will still be sub-standard, unless you're high enough level to have high level armour and weapons.

It's incredibly fun once you're able to participate effectively. However, you can join it at lower levels..

Okay, so for PvP your armour and weapons are scaled to match level 80, but in WvW you have your crappy stuff?

Yeah, in PvP you're using pvp armour that's given to you that can ONLY be used in PvP. Whilst World vs World is more like PvE but instead of all the story stuff, you're fighting against players for strategic points on the map; there's still some monsters and points of interest and materials to collect.
